She does not think the OP is weak.
Thing is- I am much the same way. Sad part is, at 19, I have chronic arthritis in my knees and a funky shoulder from a previous injury. As a kid, I remember crying to dad about "growing pains" and he told me that all pain is in my mind. Since then, I just don't tell people, I felt guilty as a kid after he said that. You're not weak, and I hope you find a way to help ease your pain.

She might think it's weak but really she just scared that she might have to be the bread winner, the care giver, and that she might lose her freedom as well.

Perhaps you're afraid to admit it because YOU think it's an admission of weakness? Let the woman who loves you help you. If she really thinks you're weak, she's not a very good wife, and you ought to reconsider your marriage.

You should not be ashamed. If your wife really loved you, she would understand. Why would she hate you if you have chronic pain... if she did, then that is her problem. It is something you cannot help, and if she supports you, that will at least boost your esteem in a way. You should not suffer alone.

I used to be in pain all the time. Joint pain. I think its arthritis, but have not seen a doctor. I started taking cherry juice conncetrate, 2 tbl spoon everyday. Now I'm pain free. The brand I use is "Natures Blessed" It's by the fresh squezed OJ. A quart lasts me about three months.
