Well i hated kids too until I had one of my own. Then I loved kids and thought they were so cute and funny, now my son is older and I am back to thinking they are annoying, not as much as before but pretty bad. I think you'll change your mind. Just do the right thing.

OP here: You're not SUPPOSED to have an IUD without having been pregnant first, but my Dr. gave me one anyway. I guess he figured that, at 33, if I hadn't been bitten by the bug yet I wasn't going to but at least I could change my mind. Nice having a Dr. who actually listens. I've had it for almost 3 years with no issues, until now.

To the person who called BS-You can have an IUD without having a baby first. i'm 25 and have had an IUD since i was 22 and I've never been pregnant once. All they require is for you to be in a monogamous relationship and have a big enough uterus.

I got pregnant while having a IUD. It is actually still in my uterus. It caused many complications during my pregnancy. I had it in place for a year, then got pregnant. I totally wasn't ready to have another baby at that time, but now I can't imagine our lives without him! If in fact you are pregnant, you need to make a complaint with the food and drug association. I cannot believe with all the woman that have become pregnant while on the IUD that it is a 99.9% effective contraceptive!!

i freakin HATED kids before i had my own. i still dont like other peoples kids, but you'd be surprised how well things can turn out with unexpected pregnancies. if you have it and don't want it, let someone else adopt the baby. plenty of wannabe parents out there. i have an iud and now i'm feeling a bit nervous :)

My friend was born holding her mothers IUD in her hand. I'm terrified of getting the IUD because you can risk it being embedded in your childs body or head. It's scary. My other friend had to get hers surgically removed because it got embedded in her uterus. Too many girls I know have gotten preggers with the IUD.

Some people shouldn't be parents, but not all of them recognize it. Thank goodness you do. When someone doesn't, their life is miserable and the life of their child is disastrous. Congratulations on recognizing this and not letting family or society pressure you into something you don't want. The downside: I have no children, my mother died recently, and now I am all alone in the world. Shrug.
