I am in the same place. I have a great guy wanting a long term relationship and i cant commit. He has done nothing bad but I always assume everyone is lying. I wish i could figure out how to make it stop.

Be friends first. If a person loves you enough they will be happy with being friends. You can transition into a relationship when you both feel that you are ready for a relationship.

Talk about your worries with them, the right person would understand and be patient.

Been there, had my heart broken, lied to,cheated on,looked down the wrong end of a gun etc.The woman even cleaned out the bank, then cleaned out our home while I was at work. That was in 1974,and I still don't trust people.

I once worked with someone who came home from night shift. he turned on the switch and nothing happened. Then he saw something was not right. When he was able to see what happened she had taken everything from the house including the lightbulbs. All his clothes were in the middle of the livingroom floor and she had pissed on them before she left. Now, that is one nasty woman.

Do not let the illusion of pain shape who you are as a person. Your reaction of the situation is of your doing only. You are actively choosing to live in fear. Change the way you think, change the world. Life is but a choice; fear or love. FEAR IS AN ILLUSION.
