My husband gets this feeling too, I'm sure it's normal to compare ourselfs to our parents.

I didn't know my father, but I found out later that he was 47 when he died from pneumonia, complicated by alcoholism. I'm 45 now and drink too much. I just wondered the other day if I have two years to live.....

My mother went thru that in her 30s.. Her mother had passed away at 32... which is where I am now and my mother is going strong. No need to worry. Instead live life to the fullest! Have fun, you may have a long life or a short one. Just enjoy while you can!

Be good to your loved ones, facilitate the growth of your personal relationships. Practice love, forgiveness, patience with yourself and others. Get stuff off your chest in a healthy timely manner, and smile, persevere, and practice your career and hobbies which fulfill you. This way, you will feel like life is chockful of greatness. Time is running out but you can pack it with whole-grain goodness day by day... eat your bread... spiritual, emotional... and spend your bread a little, too, cuz you can't take it with you!

I know the Feeling. Lost my Dad When I was 4.
Lost mom at 34.
thought 34 was old.
Now that I am over 40 I think time is running out.
I will always tell the ones I love that I love then on the way out the door.
one never knows.
peace to you!

My older brother and me felt the same way, the odd thing is, my dad died a week before his 36th b/day, and my younger brother died a week after his 36th b/day. They both died at home on the couch, and left no life ins. They were both alcoholics. My younger brother always said that he would die just like his father...and he did.
