You cannot leave because the verbal abuse has made you feel like you are Undeserving or better treatment. When your self esteem is low you are afraid you won't find someone else . So you allow the abuse because you fear being alone. Just my opinion but I have been in the same situation. And think I figured it all out.I am so sorry you are hurting inside too.

All depression is is anger that is turned inward upon the self. You have a good reason to be angry. Keep expressing it in any way you can even if it is not at the person above you mention. That will cure your depression and remind you of the respect and care you deserve enough to motivate you to get away from the psychopath.
