Congrats on telling them. This can only lead to more understanding. No go look at this site and consider that instead of being ill that perhaps you are something more than the programmed zombies this world has made most people:http://theicarusproject.net/ Many people with bipolar are just extremely sensitive and hyperemotional (not a bad thing if you learn how to use that energy). As far as the psychosis, it could be that you are extra sensory or mind controlled (if you are seeing and hearing voices that tell you to be harmful). So don't just accept the diagnosis, look deeper into your experience. Blessings to you.

You are a very lucky person to have your husband stand by you. My sister-in-law's husband left her when he first learned that she was sick. It made things so much worse for her. I just wonder if she would have done better if he had cared enough to stay and support her?

Why does everyone need to be on meds? Why do so few of you not see the insanity in drugging people to fit the norm of a very small box? Psych meds are one of the biggest wooden nickles ever sold and you all buy into it! How about we let people be who they are, nurture them, allow for their feelings, mood fluxuations and visions? Oh , I know why... because that slows productivity and doesn't make pharm reps and companies rich.
