Religion is the greatest hoax ever perpetuated upon mankind, I gave it up years ago, after struggling with it for most of my life. I simply looked at it from a completely rational point of view and realized that it is simply a myth. As far as having no one to pray to...you will get used to the fact that there is nobody listening. We are personally accountable for our own moral and ethical behavior, and are not subject to the whim of some imaginary deity. looking down at us. Good for you for having the intelligence and courage face reality.

When you are scared go within yourself and find the strength and courage there. If a god does exist it is nothing that any man has described in history as all those figures were created to mind control. There is no need to pray any longer - just know.

I gave up God and no longer feel guilty about the little things religious people think is wrong. That has made me happier. Op: When you are scared, just be strong. Praying will not help or all those religious people who died in tragedy would have been spared.

Jesus had to die on the cross for the atonement of our sins. He took the punishment that we all deserve upon himself by the order of his Father (God). Otherwise our sins would of always separated us from the Lord. This act also allowed Jesus's followers to receive the holy sprit.
