dont worry i feel the same at the end of a long season of 3 nights a week,5 before school starts, and EVERY weekend. The joy of dealing with parents who take it way to seriously cant end soon enough for me. We dont do travel anything anymore. All rec.

I'll bet if you sat down with your kids, you might just find they feel exactly the same way. Now wouldn't that be funny.

I have coached little league baseball for the past 4 years so I can sympathize with your comment. However, keep in mind your kids are growing up fast and these things will soon be but a distant memory. Try enjoying it while it lasts....

To poster #1 yeah its selfish but I'm still a person and would enjoy some down time to do the things I like or fix my house, truck, bike, go to the gym, sleep in, f*** just vegge out....I bet your single with no kids.
To poster #2 I wish we didnt travel either the finals, nationals, etc its killing me financialy as well as time. Damn kids need to lose. If we win agian its AZ to San Diego to Florida, give me a f***ing break already.
To #3 the kids absolutly love the sports so no its not funny
To #4 No
To #5 I totally agree rather have them busy, happy, and out of trouble. And thanks about the Bike I enjoyed it at one time.
And the kicker is their my step kids and I feel they are a bit ungreatful but then agian thier kids and dont realize the sacrafice envolved.

In the not too distant future you will give up everything that you have ever had or owned for the hope of having them as a child for one more day

Well, that's rough to hear, but your being honest I guess. At least your actually involved with your kids, it sounds like. But they grow up quick, be careful what you wish for. (Mom of 2 high school teens)

Be realistic. How much of a time sink are their events? Unless you have the Brady Bunch, I'd imagine it can be somewhat tedious, but hardly not important enough for you to show your children you care. Your children will have grown up and moved out before you know it. The children will someday recognize and appreciate your sacrifice. Are you so short sighted to ignore those factors?

Sounds like my mom; she hated going to my soccer games because it was too cold to sit in the bleachers. I totally understand.

Quite the parent you are. Do you also hope they'll flunk out of school so you won't need to waste an evening going to graduation ?
