Trust is the most important thing in a relationship. Lies hurt loved ones. When the lies are revealed the wounds run deep.

If he/she is talking about a relationship. I agree the truth is the best way. But, we don't know the full set of circumstances.

The reality is You don't have to talk yourself into the right decisions, and you are trying to find a way to talk yourself into this. AlsoThere is no such thing as "they won't find out" maybe not today, or next week or next year but they will and it will look worse for you then.

*gosh this is hard to explain....let's say you had something you loved very much and you needed to let it go but you couldn't face it, and by not facing it the thing that you love so much suffers....would you want someone to make the decision for you without your knowledge? is it okay to lie if it prevents suffering?

I think if you have to lie, than you probably aren't doing what's right. Sometimes there are situations in life where we feel like we have to lie, but we never really HAVE to lie. Sometimes the truth is painful, but that is just part of life. Whomever it is, deserves the truth no matter what. It may hurt for a while, but not as much as if they found out you werent honest. This may not be the answer you're looking for, because truth is sometimes the hardest choice. But, tell the truth, and you will not ultimately regret it. : )

2^ What decision? Sounds terrible. I agree with these other people. The truth is better. A lot of people just know when it's not the truth and face a lot of internal conflict that makes them feel kind of crazy. they want to believe you but know you're lying. Or they know you're lying but not about what specifically. That sucks.

I still feel that the more you do the less the better because it never was anyway.

Really hard to say unless we know more details. If you do lie, then lie all the way. My ex lied to me and then decided to tell me the truth 4 months later. WORST mistake, I freaked out ofcourse and left him. I had no idea he was lieing to me...I wish he would have just kept the lie to himself.

I wonder what your definition of "What's right" is....if you have to lie, are you sure you are doing what's right?? maybe the other person would have a different definition of what is right or what isn't.
