Hell, I keep finding out about new half-sisters every christmas. My dad didn't want anything to do with his kids WHILE he was still married to my mom. He just loved his beer. Cheap crappy beer at that!

Step-mom/2nd wife here... I saw it as the most important thing my husband could do was to remain an involved dad to his kids - our plans were often canceled to make time for his kids. That is the measure of a good step-parent (making sure the kids still have their parent) Your dad is an idiot!!! You are obviously more evolved than he is or probably ever will be. I'm sorry - he is the one missing out. You have a choice to make - do the same to your kids or not!!

^Not every wife is as unselfish as you. Some just want all of the attention for themselves and f*** the former kids. All that happens is you end up not respecting your dad anymore and even not wanting to see him at all.

i know how you feel. i'm in the same boat. i'm the oldest. he claims he has his family to take care of, like i'm less important than they there.. it sucks. and i'm pregnant with his first grandchild, a boy, and he could care less.
