I have many friends working in our city's fire department. They aren't full of themselves, and they don't think they are heroes either. I've known several of them to do heroic things, but they say it's just part of their job. Definitely, men and women to look up to.

Dude, get over yourself. I've spent 17 years in the service. We aint no fukin heros. Highly trained and equipped but no fukin hero. No different than any other profession. But I'm not taking any unnecessary chances to save no one. I'm going home at the end of my shift to MY family. Sorry.
