Ohhhh SO SAD! It's so hard to say good bye to our furry friends! They are more than friends. They are our sisters and brothers and even our children. I love my childhood dogs growing up like they were my sisters and I love my dogs I've had as an adult like they were my kids. I have one left now and she's 13. I feel your pain!

We know how it is to lose a beloved animal. We are on a couple of acres here in Idaho and have lost 4 dogs and a cat and a goat. It is VERY hard as these were our "kids", We know Molly is happy in doggy heaven, smileing down on you every day!

I know how you feel and how much this hurts having had to do the same thing myself with several of my "best friends". Just remember, they KNOW they were loved and when YOU die, every dog you have ever loved will be the first ones to greet you and guide you to heaven.

I am a grown guy. Man, once I had to get rid of my dog due to a moving situation. Sheesh. I cried like a baby. I felt like I was giving away my kid.

OP hereWe had to put her down she was too old. We told ourslves that we would keep her alive so long as she was living without umbearable pain. When she began hurting too bad to even get up to eat last week we decided it was time. We all said our goodbyes yesterday. It was so hard, but she was hurting so bad there was no other way. Our vet told us that nothing they could do would give her much relief. It was just her time. I personally believe pets follow their owners in spirit until their owners die. I'll really miss her. She was an amazing friend. She got me through so much as a child. Thank you all for the kind comments. They are so appriciated!

I am the one who kept asking what is going to happen at 8am. You are not alone. I'll tell you what happened to me. As I lost one cat to old age, I got over 20 years on my pets, (lucky me) I just happened to come across another cat who looked and acted just like my old cat however, the new one is just a baby. This happened several times so far and it really helps you feel better. In a way, I feel like I have had the same cat since I was a child and it's pretty cool. They were all orange and white with almost the same markings and the same habbits. Strange right? I think we can mold a new pet into doing the same things our old pets did. This does not replace the old pet, however, as I said, it really does help alot.
