yeah but if you tell her that she ignores it and its just my brother and i and she wont listin to anyone... my brothers solution is going into the navy and never coming back. He leaves in 2 weeks. (OP btw)

You are going to have to call social services. Hoarders even pose a risk to themselves since the chances of dying inside of the house quadruples. I am so sorry that this is happening but she really needs help and you are going to have to be the hardass.. Always remember that this is the women that thought you even when you didn't like it, now is your chance to pay her back with the same level of love.

yea she needs help. There are 2 stories out of Chicago of hoarders. One was a couple...they lived. The other, the lady was dead and the FD had to cut a hole in her roof to get her body out, because the stuff was stacked up floor to ceiling they showed the windows of the house on the news..it was bad.

Be there for her and love her...she really needs you right now. Her heart is sad and sick and she needs your support now more than ever. You dont have to go to her house, get her out of that house to visit with your son. Turning your back on her right now would only make her worse.

I am having the same issues that you are. it's my mother also who won't let go. I honestly think that it's a control issue. This is the only thing that she can still control, clutter. All I can do is wait for her to go into a nursing home or die. She will not throw anything away. I hate going up to her house. My brother only lives 25 miles away and won't come to see her. I am so sorry for you and I know what you are going thtough.
