My best friend in the world is the same way. He is an officer and recently divorced after many many years of being married. He thinks that nobody will miss him if he dies..but the truth is..I love him and would miss him terribly.

Yeah, I'm the same way. It's part commitment and part a deep loneliness that comes from having no one to truly love. I'm man enough to say so, and have beaaten the shit out of many guys bigger than me. BFD......

<---OP Ive read all your comments and thank you for most of your support. I dont think im the hero, and every one who is in law enforcement ( deputy sheriff here) can tell you that many of the operations set on the table does not always allow you to be "first." But i try to do it every single time i get the chance. And to all of you that condemn me as being fake, buddy only if u knew. Walk a day in our shoes to appreciate some of the stuff we go through and or see. Yes, out in the field is all fun and games, but we all have our moments when we go home. I just rather put myself on the line before any of my coworkers because they are the real heroes.... once again, thnx for ur support

Leave the macho shit at work. Do not drink to much or at all to forget work and just be yourself. Someone will find you. Good things come to those who wait. Its just not your turn yet.
